FSS-014 (FSS — signal light) is a light source included in the modern equipment of a Russian soldier. It allows you to illuminate the area and give light signals, it is equipped with light sources (LEDs) of four different colors: white (installed in the optical system), red, blue and green, colored LEDs are devoid of reflectors and are designed to glow for short distances or signal. Each of the LEDs has four brightness modes and a stroboscopic (flashing) mode. In the maximum white light brightness mode, the flashlight is able to work for at least 5.5 hours.
The design is copied from the American Streamlight Sidewinder Compact, but redesigned. Designed for use as a light source that leaves your hands free. The lantern has a rectangular housing in which LEDs are installed, and a cylindrical battery compartment. There are two buttons on the upper and lower sides of the case: one turns on and off the flashlight, and switches brightness modes; the second allows you to select light sources of different colors. Unlike the American lantern, the FSS uses only AA batteries, cannot use batteries of a similar format. A clip with a hole for mounting on a helmet mount is attached to the battery compartment, the clip allows you to attach the lantern to unloading vests, backpack straps, etc. The lantern can rotate relative to the clip, which allows you to direct the light in the right direction.
Made in Russia.
